Data brokers are companies that aggregate public records — court filings, voter registrations, property deeds, phone directories — and combine them with commercial data to build profiles on virtually every US adult. They sell those profiles to marketers, landlords, employers, and anyone else willing to pay a subscription fee. The information is often outdated, wrong, or combined with someone else's records — and finding it takes 30 seconds.

The good news: most brokers are legally required to honor opt-out requests, and many provide a web form to do it. The catch: there are hundreds of brokers, each with its own process, and most repopulate from public records every 3–6 months. This is not a one-and-done task — it's a recurring maintenance job.

No. There are no APIs for data broker opt-outs. Every removal request — whether you do it yourself or hire someone — is submitted through the same web forms, emails, or mail shown in this tracker. Yes — in most cases. Data brokers continuously ingest updated public records (new voter rolls, property transfers, court filings, phone directories). A record removed today can reappear within 3–6 months when the broker's next data refresh runs. This is why re-checks matter, and why the "Ongoing Monitoring" tier exists. There is no permanent removal; footprint management is a recurring maintenance task.
We verified every link listed here with an HTTP request at build time. Some brokers return a 403 Forbidden to automated requests but serve the page correctly in a real browser (bot protection). Those are marked "verify in browser" — the URL is correct, but you'll need to open it manually. Links that returned 2xx or 3xx redirects are marked "verified."
Your status selections are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage — they never leave your device. Boojee receives no data about which brokers you've checked or your progress. Clearing your browser data will reset the checklist, so use the Print / Export button to save a snapshot if you want a permanent record.
The CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) is a California law, but many brokers honor the request nationally as a matter of policy. If you are not a California resident, you can still send the template — most brokers will process it. You may also cite your state's equivalent law (Virginia CDPA, Colorado CPA, Connecticut CTDPA, etc.) if applicable. The included template is a good-faith request that the overwhelming majority of brokers will act on regardless of your state.
Processing times vary widely. Brokers that publicly document their timelines are noted in each card. The CCPA requires a 45-day response window (extendable once). In practice, many web-form opt-outs process within 72 hours; email-based requests typically take 2–4 weeks; mail-based requests can take 4–8 weeks. After submitting, wait the stated period before re-checking your listing.
