Turn Your IP Into Perpetual Revenue

University tech transfer offices take 30–50% of licensing royalties. IP law firms charge $400–800/hour for patent prosecution with no commercialization strategy. Most university spin-outs fail because the bridge from lab to market is never built. Boojee Technology Transfer executes IP licensing, university spin-outs, patent commercialization, and joint ventures — with $500M+ in royalties across 100+ licenses.

"Boojee Estate's technology transfer team unlocked $14 million in licensing revenue from a patent portfolio we had written off as unsellable. They found the right licensees, negotiated terms we couldn't have reached alone, and had the first check in hand in under eight months."

FAQ

Common Questions

What types of IP do you work with?
We work with patents (utility, design, plant), trade secrets, copyrights, software, and proprietary datasets. We have particular depth in biotech/pharma, semiconductors, software platforms, clean energy, and university-generated research. If you are unsure whether your IP qualifies, the IP Assessment will give you a definitive answer within two weeks.
Do I need an attorney before engaging you?
No. We work alongside your existing IP counsel, or can refer you to vetted IP attorneys in our network. Our role is commercial — we identify licensees, negotiate economics, and structure deals. Legal drafting and prosecution are always coordinated with licensed attorneys.
How long does a typical licensing deal take?
Simple, single-party licenses typically close in three to six months from kick-off. Multi-territory or university spin-outs can take 12 to 18 months. Our IP Assessment phase gives you a realistic timeline estimate before any engagement begins.
Do you take a percentage of royalties?
Our standard engagements are flat-fee to eliminate conflicts of interest. For the Commercialization tier, an optional success-fee overlay (3–8% of first-year royalties) is available in lieu of the upfront fee, subject to negotiation. We will recommend whichever structure aligns best with your cashflow and risk profile.
Can you help if my patent is already expired or near expiry?
Yes — expired patents still carry commercial value via trade secret, know-how, and technical data licensing. We assess the full bundle of IP rights, not just active patents. In some cases, continuation filings or design-around documentation create new licensing leverage even for maturing portfolios.
