Your phone.
Minus Google.
AI built in.

Boojee OS is a de-Googled Android fork that ships with the Boojee app suite pre-installed instead of Google's — private by default, and built for people who want AI that works for them, not on them.

Honest framing: Boojee OS is not built from scratch. It's an AOSP-based fork — in the tradition of GrapheneOS, /e/OS, and LineageOS — with Boojee's live app suite replacing the Google layer. The apps are real and shipped today. The OS fork is the work in progress. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when there's a build to flash.

What Boojee OS actually is

The honest pitch.

Most phones ship with two layers of surveillance: the OS and the app suite. Boojee OS replaces both — with an open Android base and apps that don't sell your data.

The OS Layer

A de-Googled Android base

An AOSP fork — Android Open Source Project, the same foundation that powers GrapheneOS, /e/OS, and LineageOS. We're not writing an OS from scratch; we're building a hardened, de-Googled Android with sane defaults and the Boojee suite pre-integrated. Pixel hardware first, because Pixels have unlockable bootloaders and first-class custom-ROM support.

The App Layer

The Boojee suite instead of Google's

Google ships 17+ pre-installed apps on a stock Android phone — Chrome, Maps, Photos, Drive, Assistant, Gmail, and more — each one a data collection surface. Boojee OS replaces that layer with apps that store data on your device, not Google's servers. Every app in the suite is live and in production today.

What makes it honest

No fake specs. No "buy now."

This is a vision page, not a product listing. There is no hardware to purchase. There is no ROM to flash today. When there is, we'll tell you. Join the waitlist; we'll email you when there's something real to install.

The AI Layer

AI that works for you

Boojee's AI tools — the Companion assistant and the Browser command bar — are pre-loaded as the default assistant, replacing Google Assistant. Private queries that run on your behalf, not queries that feed an ad model. The AI layer is also already live; you can try it now.

The Pre-Installed App Suite

These aren't mockups.
Every app is live right now.

This is the whole credibility play: Boojee OS isn't a promise to build apps someday — it's a phone concept built from the apps up. Every item below is a shipped, working product you can open in your browser today. The OS fork is the last piece; the suite is already done.

Why AOSP, honestly

Building on shoulders,
not starting from zero.

"Built from scratch" sounds impressive. It's also a red flag. Every serious private Android OS — GrapheneOS, /e/OS, LineageOS, CalyxOS — is built on AOSP. So is Boojee OS, and that's not a compromise.

Why AOSP is the right foundation

AOSP is the open-source core of Android, maintained publicly and auditable by anyone. Building on it means you inherit a security-reviewed kernel, hardware support for major devices, and a massive compatibility surface — without Google Play Services or any of Google's data-collection layer.

GrapheneOS does this and is widely regarded as the most secure mobile OS available. We're following the same methodology, with our own app suite baked in.

What "Pixel-first" actually means

Custom ROMs only work on phones with unlockable bootloaders. Google's Pixel phones are the gold standard for this — Google publishes their bootloader unlock process, releases binaries, and the custom-ROM community maintains deep support for every Pixel generation.

We're starting with Pixel because it's the most reliable target. We'll expand to other devices based on what the waitlist tells us people actually have.

Prior art we respect: GrapheneOS (security-hardened, Pixel-only, the gold standard for privacy), /e/OS (Google-free Android with a cloud suite, broader device support), and LineageOS (community ROM, widest device coverage) all prove this model works. Boojee OS's differentiator is the pre-integrated Boojee app suite and the AI layer.

Questions

Honest answers.

No. There is no phone to purchase today, and no device hardware on sale. Boojee OS is in development. This page is a vision and waitlist — the apps are real and you can use them now, but the OS fork is the work ahead. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you when there's something to flash.
No, and we're saying so upfront because it's actually more credible this way. Boojee OS is an AOSP fork — Android Open Source Project. Every serious private Android OS (GrapheneOS, /e/OS, LineageOS, CalyxOS) is built on AOSP. Building from scratch would mean reinventing a security-reviewed kernel and a hardware driver stack for every phone, which would take a decade. The AOSP foundation is proven; our job is the de-Googling and the app suite.
Pixel phones have unlockable bootloaders and Google publishes the hardware support files needed for custom ROMs — which makes them the most reliable target for this kind of work. GrapheneOS is Pixel-only for the same reason. Once a Pixel build is stable we'll expand to other devices where there's strong waitlist demand and bootloader support.
Every app listed on this page is live and in production. Boojee Memory, Boojee Data, Boojee Photos, Boojee Forms, Boojee Tasks, Boojee Browser, Boojee Cloak, and Boojee Companion are all real, deployed, and linked from this page. You can open them right now in your browser. That's the whole honest pitch: the suite is built. The OS is what we're building next.
GrapheneOS is excellent and we respect it deeply. The difference is the app layer. GrapheneOS de-Googles the OS and gives you a hardened base; you then have to source and configure a full suite of private apps yourself (Vanadium, Mull, Obtainium, etc). Boojee OS ships with the Boojee suite already pre-installed and pre-configured as the defaults — browser, notes, files, photos, forms, tasks, privacy tools, and the AI assistant — all wired together out of the box. If you want to flash GrapheneOS today, we fully recommend it. Boojee OS is for people who want the suite pre-baked with no setup.
Custom ROM flashing currently requires some comfort with unlocking a bootloader and running commands in a terminal — it's not a GUI installer yet. We'll publish a step-by-step guide when the first build is ready, and we'll design it to be as approachable as possible. Tell us your phone in the waitlist form; that data helps us prioritize which device to tackle first.
The whole point is your data stays on your device. The Boojee apps — Keep, Data, Photos, Tasks, Forms — all use local device storage (localStorage / IndexedDB) with no backend server receiving your content. Boojee Companion / AI makes queries on your behalf with no ad-targeting profile attached. The OS layer removes Google Play Services entirely, which eliminates the biggest data-collection surface on a stock Android phone.
