What We Help You Set Up

We coordinate each of these with licensed brokers, carriers, and administrators, organized around your team size, state, and budget. BOOJEE is not a licensed insurance broker, benefits administrator, or ERISA fiduciary.

Health Insurance Coordination

We help gather quotes from ACA marketplace, SHOP, and group health options through licensed brokers in your state and organize them into a side-by-side comparison you review.

401k Plan Setup

We help coordinate a 401k — safe harbor or traditional design, payroll integration, and employee enrollment — with your chosen plan provider and payroll system. Plan compliance is handled by the provider.

PTO Policy Design

Accrual rules, carryover caps, sick-leave and holiday schedules — documented and ready to deploy in your HR system. We recommend a licensed professional review policies against your state's requirements.

Life & Disability

Group term life, short-term disability, and long-term disability enrollment configured alongside health coverage — one enrollment experience for employees.

FSA/HSA Enrollment

We help coordinate Flexible Spending Accounts and Health Savings Accounts alongside your health plan with the account administrator, including employee education. Required filings are handled by the administrator.

Compliance Coordination

We help you keep track of items like ERISA plan documents, SPDs, ACA 1095-C reporting, IRS Form 5500, COBRA, and HIPAA notices, and coordinate them with the licensed brokers, administrators, and professionals responsible for preparing and filing them. BOOJEE does not provide legal, tax, or compliance advice.

The process

How It Works

Four steps from zero to a benefits package your team will actually talk about.

1

Benefits Audit

We review your headcount, state requirements, current spend, and goals. Takes 30 minutes — you get a written findings doc.

2

Carrier Comparison

We help gather quotes through licensed brokers, build a side-by-side plan matrix, and lay out the trade-offs with the math shown. Your licensed broker advises on the plan itself.

3

Enrollment Setup

We configure the enrollment platform, upload employee data, build communication templates, and run the open enrollment window with you.

4

Ongoing Admin

New-hire enrollments, qualifying life events, annual renewals, and compliance items — coordinated on schedule with your brokers and administrators so nothing slips.

Common questions

FAQ

Do I need benefits to compete for talent?

Benefits tend to matter a lot to candidates. Industry surveys from organizations like SHRM have reported that a large share of employees weigh benefits heavily when accepting a job, and many would trade some pay for stronger benefits (figures vary by survey and year). For small businesses competing against larger employers, a well-structured benefits package can help level the playing field — and we help you set it up without needing an in-house HR department.

Is BOOJEE Estate a licensed insurance broker?

No. BOOJEE Estate is a benefits coordination and project-management service — not a licensed insurance broker or agent, benefits administrator, or ERISA fiduciary. We help you organize the process and coordinate with the licensed brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators who handle quoting, binding, and filing. Eligibility and plan rules depend on your state, carrier, and headcount — confirm specifics with a licensed professional.

Who actually places the coverage and files compliance paperwork?

Licensed brokers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators do. We help you gather information, compare options presented by licensed professionals, and keep the project on schedule. We do not bind coverage, provide insurance, tax, or legal advice, or file ERISA/ACA/IRS documents ourselves — those are handled by the appropriate licensed parties.

How long does benefits setup typically take?

Many small-business setups take roughly 30 days, though timelines vary by state, carrier, and headcount and are not guaranteed. A typical sequence: benefits scoping (week 1), quotes gathered from licensed brokers (week 2), enrollment platform configured and employees notified (week 3), enrollment closes and coverage confirmed by the carrier (week 4).

What happens at annual renewal?

On Plus and Enterprise plans, we help coordinate your annual open enrollment: we help request renewal rates from your current carrier ahead of the deadline, gather alternative quotes from licensed brokers, prepare a comparison, and help run the enrollment window with your employees. You approve the final selection, and the licensed broker or carrier handles the placement and paperwork.
